Bodo/Glimt has played non-stop for over two years. The players are not hiding the fact that they need a break. Eliteserien, cup, and europa-spill. Bodo/Glimt has played significant matches in 28 consecutive months. Now that Eliteserien is entering the VM-pause, several of Glimt's players will get their first consecutive free period in a long time. – It's longed for. I know on my body that it's been hanging on for almost a year. So the break will certainly be used well, I think, says Odin Bjørtuft. Bodo/Glimt has fought on all fronts for several seasons, whether it's been Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League. Therefore, June will be the first month without matches in two years and four months. – I see you almost get a little emotional when you talk about a break, says TV 2's football expert Mushaga Bakenga with a smile. – I know it on my body. It's been driven. That's just how football life is. We've been standing in a hellish pace. It's been non-stop, and it feels like it's been a year, says Bjørtuft. – We got a few days off after the Champions League match against Dortmund, but it's not even close to the same long break as the other teams in Eliteserien have had. Now it's just a matter of relaxing and recharging, says Sondre Auklend. Only Patrick Berg, Jens Petter Hauge, and Fredrik Bjørkan do not get a break from Glimt's players. The trio's place in Norway's VM-troop makes them have to keep their wheels going even in June. For the rest of Glimt's players, some longed-for days off are waiting before it breaks loose again in July. – Getting two weeks off now is important for the body, but not least mentally. It's good to be able to think about something other than football, says Bjørtuft. – Must calm down When Glimt's coach Kjetil Knutsen gets the same question, the tone is different. – Will it be good to have a little break now? – No, it wasn't that good just now. But I have to calm down a bit, so it will certainly be good in a few days, Knutsen replies. After Glimt's last match before the pause against Rosenborg, Knutsen was unhappy with much of the performance. The match ended 2-2, and Kjetil Knutsen had no good feeling to take with him into the break. He was not alone in this experience. – There's no reason for it to go as badly as it does today. It's a shame to let in two goals. It's too bad, said Bjørtuft after the match. In the match, neither Patrick Berg, Jens Petter Hauge, nor Fredrik Bjørkan was present, as they were on the national team's gathering. – Patrick is not here, Jens and Fredrik are not here. That's how it is. This was a great opportunity for those who fight every day on the training field, and for those who want to start the matches, to show that they deserve a place on the team, says Knutsen. He continues: – But they must show that they will play. Then you have to deliver performances that make you ahead of the next match. Those who are not here, we cannot use our time on, says Knutsen. Knutsen emphasized that he expected more from several of the players who got a chance from the start. It can also be important in the time to come, as it is speculated that several key players are on their way out this summer. – For Glimt, there is little room for error if they are to stay in the top. Looking at the table, Viking appears to be a train that does not seem to stop. The team has a winning streak of nine consecutive matches (!). – That's how it is. To be in the top, you have to take many points. Therefore, it's a shame to not get all three points in the match against Viking, says Knutsen.
